Recruiting smokers is not our “cup of tea”

We do not want to hire smokers. “Why not?” you might ask…

Well. Because Lime’s culture is all about caring for our customers and our colleagues. We want to do what’s best for everyone. Smoking is not only bad for you, but also bad for your surroundings, and for society. At Lime, we believe in making a difference, and we dare to stand out. That’s why we have a non-smoking policy.

There are obviously smart people out there who smoke even though they realize that it is harmful to themselves and to others. With self-discipline and a huge amount of will, anyone can stop smoking. We are looking for people with self-discipline and a strong will.

We are not naïve. We know that there are people who may be strong-willed and still decide to smoke, and that is their choice.

We spend resources wisely and avoid unnecessary risks. Did you know that a smoker, on average, has 30 minutes more breaks per day? And eight more days of sick leave per year than non-smokers? That is a considerable cost for a company.

In conclusion… We do not recruit smokers.

Here are some facts about the economic impact of smoking. And pictures of what happens to your body when you smoke. That is really scary. Want to quit?
